Thirty-four volunteers collected about 300 pounds of trash at the August 10 shoreline cleanup sponsored by Save the Bay. Most of the participants were from Warwick or Providence but one group came from as far away as Gloucester, MA! The gorgeous weather and beautiful views enticed many participants to concentrate their efforts on the breakwater and causeway. They did a great job in removing masses of fishline, glass bottles, aluminum cans, and plastic from hiding places among the boulders. For those of you who missed this cleanup—not to worry. There are plenty more future cleanups!
