The number of visitors to Salter Grove has increased greatly after replacing the playground, repairing the causeway, and improving the nature trails. It is wonderful to see so many appreciating our unique park.

A few visitors mistakenly believe that they are entitled to do whatever they want in a public space. But use of public spaces, like parks, is indeed regulated for everyone’s safety and enjoyment.

FoSG members and volunteers continue to work diligently to improve park amenities and esthetics, but wanton vandalism is truly discouraging and expensive. We ask park visitors to help us keep the park pleasant by discretely reporting unlawful activities to the Warwick Police Department.

The Warwick Police conduct frequent, unpredictable 24/7 patrols of the park and respond to calls from the public for service. The following table summarizes these activities for the first nine months of 2022: 

Obviously, the police have numerous obligations covering a broad territory. You can help them more efficiently keep our park safe and nice by reporting unlawful or dangerous activities as they occur.
